At TLC Infant & Preschool Center, preschool and pre-kindergarten and VPK programs are designed to meet all the physical, social and intellectual needs of healthy children from the ages of three to six years. Within the context of a safe, secure environment, we provide many opportunities for enjoyable and stimulating activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, dance and dramatic play. There is a playground with developmentally appropriate equipment, and children engage in games and socialization both in and out of the classroom.

It has been shown that children who participate in a high-quality, early childhood education program develop better in language skills, score higher in school-readiness test and have better social skills and fewer behavioral problems. They are also better prepared for kindergarten especially in the areas of reading, math and social skills. So by your child attending a pre-K/VPK program they will be prepared for a successful kindergarten experience.

Our formal curriculum is based on the Breakthrough to Literacy Program. Activities included are reading and math readiness, science which are developmentally appropriate for preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners. There is vocabulary and comprehension development, movement awareness, science, health and safety, and language. Because we exist in a multi-cultural community and wish to foster peace and understanding, we also include anti-bias focus in the program.
